Evaluation of Additively-Manufactured Internal Geometrical Features Using X-ray-Computed Tomography

چکیده

X-ray-computed tomography (CT) is today’s gold standard for the non-destructive evaluation of internal component defects such as cracks and porosity. Using automated standardized algorithms, an analysis can be performed without knowledge shape, location, or size defects. Both measurement are based on fact that has no structures cavities. However, additive manufacturing (AM) hybrid subtractive procedures offer possibility integrating directly during building process. The examination powder bed fusion (PBF) samples made Ti64 PA12 showed methods were not able to identify correctly. Different CT-measured values analyzed recommendations a procedure measuring given.

Areal Surface Texture Data Extraction from X-ray Computed Tomography Reconstructions of Metal Additively Manufactured Parts

Many applications that exploit the manufacturing flexibility of additive manufacturing (AM) produce surfaces, primarily internal features, which cannot be measured using conventional contact or line-ofsight optical methods. This paper evaluates the capability of a novel technique to extract areal surface data from micro-focus X-ray computed tomography (XCT) from AM components and then generate ...

Results from an interlaboratory comparison of areal surface texture parameter extraction from X-ray computed tomography of additively manufactured parts

This paper presents the results of the CT-STARR (CT-Surface Texture for Additive Round Robin) interlaboratory comparison. The study compares the results obtained for the extraction of areal surface texture data per ISO 25178-2 from five X-ray computed tomography (XCT) volume measurements from each of four laboratories. To reduce the number of process variables, all participants utilise a Nikon ...

X-ray computed tomography.

X-ray computed tomography (CT), introduced into clinical practice in 1972, was the first of the modern slice-imaging modalities. To reconstruct images mathematically from measured data and to display and to archive them in digital form was a novelty then and is commonplace today. CT has shown a steady upward trend with respect to technology, performance and clinical use independent of predictio...

X-ray micro-computed tomography

Micro-computed tomography (μCT) has been successfully used to study the cardiovascular system of mouse embryos in situ. With the use of barium as a suitablecontrast agent, blood vessels have beenimaged and analysed quantitatively such asblood volume and vessel sizes on embryosof ages 14.5 to 16.5 days old. The advantageof using this imaging modality is that it hasprovide...
